Janel Salazar now of The Autism Group organized two seminars during summer 2007. A Health and Nutrition seminar for people on the spectrum or special needs, such as biomedical treatments (GF/CF/Sugar free - raw foods, non-GMO) held at Southern Oregon University on June 30. Led by Esther Hunter, presented by Dr. Woody McGinnis, Dr. Michelle Homer, and Dr. Ian Luepker. Four Emergency First Responder seminars were held on July 9-10 presented by Dennis Debbaudt to Southern Oregon (Region 5) PD, Fire, Paramedics, Mercy Flight, Search & Rescue personnel, and parents and professionals to learn characteristics of autism, how to respond or tailor searches for positive outcomes, and how parents/guardians can be proactive. ABC affiliate KDRV channel 12 from Medford OR covered the events and broadcast in support of this community work.
